Half Moon Orchestra’s goal is to provide a variety of instrumental music to the community. Our musicians are primarily volunteers with a love of music who are interested in sharing their talents with audiences.
Lifelong community member Frank Giotto of Giotto Enterprises and son Andrew Giotto are excited to bring their vision to increase the presence of orchestrated music in the Utica/ Rome area to life. This summer they were able to do this by working with a staple of the local music community conductor Michael DiMeo. Together, they have been working to find musicians with a passion to donate their time and talent to make a truly unique string group.
Half Moon Orchestra has about 15 core members and is inviting additional musicians to collaborate and perform in their upcoming holiday concert. The show will be on December 10th at 2:30pm in the New Hartford High School auditorium located in the Bradley Elementary building. Tickets will be $5 and they have partnered with CABVI, The House of Good Shepherd, Kelberman Center, UCP and Adirondack Bank. A portion of ticket sales will go back to the charities, however the primary goal is to provide an opportunity for people to see this entertaining holiday show.
Tickets will be available through online sales or by reaching out to one of the above organizations to purchase through them. This performance will feature instrumental arrangements of Christmas music, hosted by Mr. Scrooge and Santa! Our hope is to create a family friendly, fun and entertaining program that inspires the holiday spirit and becomes a tradition families look forward to each year!
